FACCE MACSUR MID-TERM SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE - APRIL 1-3, 2014
ACHIEVEMENTS, ACTIVITIES, ADVANCEMENT? APRIL 1-3, 2014, UNIVERSITY OF SASSARI, SARDINIA, ITALY
In the frame of Facce JPI - Macsur Project, the mid-project meeting aims at reflecting on achievements of the MACSUR project, especially with respect to integration across sectors and scales, on ongoing activities and future funding opportunities.
MACSUR is a knowledge hub within FACCE-JPI (Joint Programming Initiative for Agriculture, Climate Change, and Food Security) which brings together the excellence of research in modelling grasslands, livestock, crops, farms, and agricultural trade in order to illustrate to political decision makers how climate will affect regional farming systems and food production in Europe. The knowledge hub consists of 71 organizations from 17 European countries plus Israel.
The mid term meeting is organized by NRD-UNISS, coordinator of the Italian Partnership, and presents a great chance to network with MACSUR partners from across Europe, as well as representatives of other projects and organisations. An
open dialog between researchers and policy makers is an essential part of the MACSUR Knowledge Hub for disseminating the knowledge gained by project activities.
The first day of the meeting will give an overview of the projects's achievements to stakeholders, politicians, funders, and MACSUR members, especially about the integrated Regional Pilot Studies. The second day focuses on ongoing activities and plans of MACSUR Themes for a potential second phase till May 2017. The third day includes cross-cutting sessions and discussions of how to take the Knowledge Hub to the next stage. The fourth day can be used for meetings in small groups.
