Course in brief

The degree course in Forestry and Environmental Sciences has the objective of ensuring the scientific and methodological knowledge in the disciplines related to technical, biological and economic aspects of the forestry and rural land management, including planning for:
- sustainable management of the forests and environments,
- management of projects for the land protection and reclaiming of degraded environments,
- support for environmental protection and management of nature reserves, parks and gardens.
The course allows the acquisitions of 180 University Educational Credits.

Expected Skills

Knowledge and know-how:
The degree in Forestry and Environmental Sciences allows acquiring:
- the basic methods of scientific inquiry to be able to work together to test activities and contribute to the solution of technical problems in the forestry and environmental sectors,
- theoretical, operational and laboratory knowledges in forestry and environmental activities,
- use, in written and oral form, of at least one European language for the exchange of technical and scientific information.

Ability to apply knowledge and know-how:
During the three years of the degree course the student will acquire the scientific basic tools for understanding the complex relationships between biotic and abiotic components of forestal and rural environments and the application of methodologies for their conservation and sustainable management.

Areas for Career Opportunities

Position in a workplace:
The three-year graduate can perform the following functions :
- management of rural and forest land with special reference to the forest environment monitoring and mountainous;
- conservation and sustainable management of forest and agroforestry areas,
- project management and soil protection works and restoration of degraded environments.

Position-related skills:
- Management of firms in the agricultural and forestry sectors,
- pollaboration on projects for improvement and sustainable management of forest and agro-forestry and pastoral resources,
- perform management tasks and technical support in production and technical activities, in laboratories and in public and private facilities,

- access to the master's degree in Forestry and Environmental Systems.

Access requirements

To be admitted to the graduate course you need to have a Second Grade Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent foreign qualification.
The access follows that of programmed number university courses.
You are given a multiple choice test.
The regulation of the course and/or a specific call provides the topics to be covered and, the entire procedures needed to carry out the test.
