Knowledge of the topics treated in the courses of Analytical Chemistry and Analytical Electrochemistry.
The course is included in the integrated course “Synthesis and instrumental characterization techniques for advanced materials”. The purpose of the course is a general knowledge on main features of electrogenerated conducting polymers and on electrochemical synthesis and characterization techniques. At the end of the course the student will have gained knowledge on the electrochemical synthesis and characterization of conducting polymers.
Conducting Polymers: theory of conductivity; conduction mechanism; poly(acetylene), poly(pyrrole), poly(thiophene). Electrochemical synthesis. Applications (LEDs, solar cells, biosensors).
