Verification of learning:

The examination will take place with the discussion of the graphic material produced and made with plastic.
The assessment is not only referring to the final result, but will take into account the entire work process.

Objectives

The first course of urban planning should be an opportunity to work with and understand the concept of scale in architecture. From its knowledge of the human body, the human relationship with the minimum living space to the scaling relationship with the city.
Analyzes and facts exercises will be aimed at defining this design continuity that must be reflected use that people make of their immediate surroundings in relation to all urban and wider geographic.

Contents

The course offers three years of planning at three scales.
The first focuses on the analysis of human scale in a residential unit, the second will analyze the union of separate units and their interactions, the third exercise will help to understand the necessary reports and natural sets including residential and public space and how these relationships give rise to the urban space.

Teaching Methods

The work will be structured in weekly sessions of two and three days: students will work in groups initially concluding the final work individually. There will be a collective assessment of the work on each project, and the students will be obliged to listen to comments and assessments.
Each student will keep a project notebook with sketches of revisions and useful material for the development of the theme, as well as the models of three-dimensional depiction of the hypothesis of the project.
