The students will acquire the following basic knowledge and practical skills;
- soil morphological features;
- soil physical-chemical features;
- interpretation of pedogenetic processes;
- the role and effect of the main factors of the soil formation in natural and anthropic ecosystems;
- soil classification skills through the main international soil classification systems;
- soil as one of the world's most important natural resources;
- basic concept on pedotechnical management of soils belonging to degraded areas;
- ethnopedology in the study of local knowledge.
