Preparatory examinations
At the end of the course the student will know the interactions between host and infectious agent and their routes of transmission to humans. The student will know and will be capable of recognizing the principal infectious diseases affecting the respiratory, gastrointestinal, urinary tract and cardiovascular, lymphatic system. Sexually transmitted infections and infections in pregnancy from pathogens belonging to the TORCH complex will also be focused during the course and the student will be able to recognise the main maternal and foetal clinical pictures. At the end of the course the student will be able to discuss with appropriate terminology with colleagues and with other healthcare professionals of paradigmatic clinical cases.
