Knowledge of the underlying mechanisms of disease development and the use of the main laboratory diagnostic methods needed to monitor the disease state. After completing the course, students will be able to critically evaluate the data of laboratory medicine, based on the knowledge and experience gained in relation to diagnostic technical inquiries regarding the study of the main blood disorders, alterations of the coagulation fibrinolytic system, acute cardiovascular events , impaired kidney function, endocrine disorders, free radicals, immunity-related diseases. The course will also provide a guide to the planning and realization of diagnostic technical activities of the treated disease, the proper use of complex laboratory equipment, computer management programs needed to conduct specific tests and the interpretation of results obtained in scope of a quality control.
