Construction and rural construction. Design and construction of rural buildings. Basic elements of technical drawing. Stages of zootechnical design. Agro-zootechnical buildings for dairy cows and specific rooms. Stables for fattening livestock: types; food distribution. Authorization for atmospheric emissions.

Outline of territorial and landscape planning. European Landscape Convention. 'Urbani code' and planning seasons in Italy. Regional landscape plan. hydrogeological system plan (outline). Municipal master plan (outline). Regional directive for agricultural areas.

Group work: preparation of a short report concerning a rural building.

Elements of elementary trigonometry: sine, cosine, tangent and inverse functions. Carnot theorem. Sinus theorem. Heron's formula. Resolution of triangles and polygons with more than three sides. Distance between two inaccessible but visible points. Cartesian and polar coordinates. Azimuth calculation.

Geoid. Ellipsoid. Ellipsoids used in Europe and Italy. Local sphere. Plan and topographic field. Distance and altitude: spherical errors. Geoid quota and orthometric height. Parallelism error in local verticals. Adapt the distances to the reference surface. Reference systems. Topographic operations: the DATUM.
