1st part (Livestock Pest Management)
This first part of the course is designed to help students develop a working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, behavior and ecology of insects. Moreover it provides fundamental notions on characteristics useful to recognize livestock pests and the basic knowledge of their biology, ethology, damage and pest management.
2nd part (Basic Beekeeping)
The second part of the course is for beginning beekeepers. It provides all the information necessary to keep bees in Mediterranean climates, covering the important basics of biology, bee disease and parasites, and the hive management for honey production.
