The lectures and the workshop will discuss the conflict between the protection measures and actions to transform the landscapes of particular environmental sensitivity and social (coastal landscapes, landscapes of wetlands, river landscapes, landscapes of depopulation, desertification landscapes, etc.). Territory is a public good, which suffer from the pressures of the organization of settlement systems and activities of the city.
The Lab explores in particular the urban landscapes, questioning the ability of the project to strengthen in them the public dimension. It will highlight the peculiarities of the low-density cities, its ability to generate innovation and to attract people of different cultures, but also the trends to create private-contexts that respond to aesthetization rules and theming.
The territorial projects that will be processed during the Lab activities will aim to propose some urban transformation scenarios that favor the environmental processes. The projects for territorial and urban scale will propose new figurative images and fruition perspectives in line with the dynamics of the different landscapes and with the needs of urban populations, in order to propose different forms of living for an open and multicultural city.
