MODULE A
The grammatical category of verbal aspect in Russian language: definition of aspect; formation of aspectual pairs (base-verbs and derivative verbs); mono-aspectual and bi-aspectual verbs; contrastive analysis (imperfective vs. perfective) and especially: in different sequences of tenses, in negative sentences, in the imperative and infinitive moods, in the future tense, with meaning of necessity or potential act, perfective gnomic meaning. Usage of some verbal prefixes with ’actional’ meaning. Comparative analysis and translation issues between Italian and Russian. Exercises, ‘didactic’ translation’ (both ways) of Italian and Russian, analysis of verbal aspect in literary and non-literary texts.
MODULE B
Verbs of motion in Russian language in typological perspective in comparison with Italian. The 14 verbs of motion of the 1st type and the corresponding 14 verbs of the 2nd type, with and without prefixes: implications for orthography, morphology and aspect; conjugation and formation of aspectual pairs; meanings and usages (main and idiomatic ones). Comparative analysis and translation issues between Italian and Russian. Exercises, ‘didactic’ translations (both ways) of Italian and Russian, verbs of motion in literary and non-literary texts.
Active and Passive, Present and Past Participles and their use; Adverbial Participles formed from Imperfective and Perfective verbs.
