Objectives

The course aims to achieve a knowledge of the history of critique and the theory of twentieth century literature, with particular reference to the concept of criticism of life, in view of a competent application of the specific linguistic and cultural tools required by the discipline.

Contents

Literary theory, common sense and critique of life.
The course includes a detailed analysis of the relationship between theory of literature, common sense and the critique of life through the work of a crucial text of the 20th century by Antoine Compagnon, The Demon of the theory. Literature and common sense.
