Objectives

Linguistics: This module aims to present Chinese basic grammar knowledge, including verbal groups, determination, sequences, particular constructions and compound sentences. At the end of the module, the student will obtain the language skills of an elementary - intermediate level.

Language lessons: The module aims to provide a vocabulary of about 900 words, to consolidate and develop the structures learned in the first year of study. The student will also be able to converse on specific topics and write simple compositions in Chinese. At the end of the module, the student will have obtained an advanced elementary level of Chinese language.

Contents

Linguistics: the program includes:
V. The verbal group (verbs and aspects, doubling, constructions); VI. Determination (nominal determination, nominalization and verbal determination); VII. Theme-comment sequences and some structures; VIII. Verbal complements (direction, result, state, possiblity, duration, quantity and prepositional groups); IX. Particular constructions and conjunctions to build compound sentences.

Language lessons: The program includes an annual teaching which includes units 9-17 of the book "Il Cinese moderno a Sassari”(vol. 1 e 2). Topics concerned are: (1) structural and aspectual particles; (2) complement of result, degree，potentiality and duration; (3) expressions regarding "shopping", "eating", "holiday ", "weather ", "sport", "by train", "at the post office" , "at the bank".

The Chinese language exam consists of three tests: 1. written test, 2. oral test and 3. linguistics test. The partial score of written test is valid for two years. Every single test must be passed (sufficient). If the student does not pass the exam in its entirety within two years, he or she needs to take the exam again according to the current teaching program.
