• lymphohemopoietic system
• endocrine system
• respiratory system and pleura
• female genital system and breast
• kidney and urinary tract
• male genital system
• digestive system and glandular structures attached to it.
Autoimmune diseases: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Sjogren's Syndrome, Scleroderma, Dermatomyositis, Mixed Connective Disease, Vasculitis.
Pathological anatomy of shock, heart failure and hypertension, diabetes of uremia and amyloidosis.
The knowledge required includes:
macroscopic findings,
histological findings,
clinical-pathological correlations,
natural history of pathologies with the highest epidemiological impact.
The study of tumors of the various organs and systems always includes knowledge of the following aspects: definition and classification, epidemiology, risk factors, diagnostic procedures, macro and microscopic aspect, grading and staging of the tumor, immunophenotypic profile (diagnostic markers), profile genetic-molecular including prognostic and predictive factors of therapeutic response, metastatic dissemination modality, evolution and prognosis.
General knowledge of the technical and organizational procedures of the diagnostic activity of Pathological Anatomy is required:
- Autopsy;
- Diagnostic techniques: histology, histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, morphometry, electron microscopy and molecular investigations;
- Techniques, applications and limits of cytological diagnostics (exfoliative, by apposition, by aspiration with thin needle);
- Request for histological examination and interpretation of the report;
- Indications and limits of the histological examination at the freezer (intraoperative);
- Clinical-pathological procedures and interaction in the management of organ transplants.
