Understanding the dynamics of the tourist market and its interactions with the economic system. To learn and apply the theory and economic tools to the evaluation of the relationship between tourism, economy, society and the environment.
At the end of the course, the student will attain:
(1) knowledge and understanding: he course provides students with the theoretical and empirical tools essential for the economic analysis of the tourism market from a microeconomic and macroeconomic point of view.
(2) ability to apply knowledge and understanding: nce the course is finished, students will be able to assess how and to what extent tourism affects the economic system, analyze the behavior of consumers and tourism businesses, analyze the demand and supply of tourism goods and services, identifying and analyzing the specific forms of competition in the tourism market, identifying costs and benefits deriving from tourism specialization
(3) ability to make judgments: the course allows students to develop the ability to accurately report issues, concepts, ideas and problems of an economic nature.
(4) communication skills: to complete and to refer empirical research and analysis concerning an original study hypothesis; to highlight the fundamental results of the research together with useful indications for public policies.
