LATIN LITERATURE 2
Oral exam. It will be assessed the ability of the student to understand the texts in the original language (texts should be read metrically, translated and commented), and to develop a critical discourse on authors, forms and problems of literary history.
The ability to read and understand a Latin literary text.
In particular, we will explore the main aspects of the Latin poetry of the first century BC (especially Vergil's Aeneid). The aim is to provide students with the opportunity to acquire the essential tools for the literary analysis, that also involves linguistic, stylistic and metrical properties of the text.

Vergil, Aeneid - An Anthology (the edition will be provided at the beginning of the course).
Additional references will be provided at the beginning of the course, along with further material useful for attending lessons.
Students that are not able to attend classes are asked to contact the professor in order to agree an integrative learning program.
Face to face. Classroom and interactive lectures; workshop activities on the text studied.
