ISPANIC-AMERICAN LITERATURES
Oral exam
The course aims to guide students to the knowledge of the Spanish-American narrative from its origins to the present, with particular reference to the Nineteenth and Twentieth century. It also aims to enable students to make a critical reflection on the topics covered in the course and dominate the analytical tools and concepts required for textual analysis.
The course is divided into two modules. In the first one it is intended to illustrate the most relevant genres and authors in the history of Spanish American narrative.
The second module will be devoted to deepening through the analysis of particularly representative texts of the Spanish American literature. In particular, through the analysis of these texts it will be possible to analyze some of the most important themes of the Spanish American literature, including the theme of the trauma represented by Conquest and its consequences in later centuries, among which the continued attempt to apply to the American context extraneous patterns and perpetuation of the original violence.

Students who can not attend classes, in addition to the texts provided for attending students, will have to prepare the following texts:

During the course the bibliography may be subject to variation, so it is advisable for those who do not attend the lessons to contact the teacher before submitting to the exam.
The reading of the reference texts is to be understood in an instrumental sense with respect to the works analyzed in class, that is as an aid to analysis.
Frontal lectures
It is strongly recommended frequency for the course and the exam will be based primarily on the analysis of texts made in class.
