The aim of the course "endocrinology" is to promote the understanding of the mechanisms that characterize the hormonal regulation of the homeostasis of the organism, as well as general aspects of the endocrine function (hormone-receptor reaction, feedback, synthesis - storage - secretion - transport of hormones) and the acquisition of the organization of the neuroendocrine axes. Students must acquire skills in the control of metabolism, of the ability to adapt in the presence of different stress conditions. They will also have to acquire knowledge in the management of physiological activities for better control of animal welfare. They will also be stimulated in the examination of endocrine intervention in reproduction, lactation and thermoregulation.
