GENERAL LINGUISTICS
Multiple-choice tests; Open-answer test
The course aims to provide students with the principles and methods of analysis necessary to understand language as a system of communication, and to give general information about forms and means of verbal communication, the connotative function of the language and its related historical, cultural and social aspects.
As well as the basics of the discipline, we will encourage reflection on the use of the components, functions and varieties of language, stimulating the control of linguistic practice in its social context; students will be introduced to topics of historical and applied linguistics from phenomena of multiculturalism and multilingualism to sociolinguistic and ethno-linguistic topics.
