Objectives

Linguistics: the course, held in French, studies the communicative strategies and linguistic resources used in advertising texts and travel guidebooks, with particular emphasis on the sardinia travel guidebooks.
Language lessons: students will reach CEFR level C1, except for listening comprehension which will be aimed at B2+ level.

Contents

Linguistics: particular attention will be paid to the analysis of the different argumentative and rhetorical strategies used in French advertising texts and travel guidebooks to capture the readers’ attention and to tempt them to buy a product or visit a destination (in this case Sardinia).
Language lessons: face to face lessons aimed at developing linguistic and communicative skills in French through the development of the 4 skills (written and spoken comprehension and production) at CEFR level: “Compréhension écrite et résumé + Production écrite (synthèse écrite)”, “Grammaire”, “Synthèse orale”, “Compréhension orale et prise de notes”, “Production orale (ateliers de conversation/cinéforum)”.

Even though the subject is divided into modules (linguistics and language), one final mark will be assigned. Linguistics and Language can be registered singly only in the case of the necessity to complete a quote of credits following transfer from another course, an Erasmus exchange or parts of the exam that have been previously registered and have not expired.
