Introduction: Physical quantities and their measurement. Coordinate systems in space. Vectors and scalars. Operations with vectors.
Kinematics: Motion in one, two and three dimensions.
Dynamics: Force and motion. Newton’s laws. Kinetic energy and work. Potential energy and energy conservation. Center of mass and linear momentum. Rotation and angular momentum. Galilean invariance.
Thermodynamics: Temperature, Heat and the First Law of Thermodynamics. The Kinetic Theory of gases. Entropy and the Second Law of Thermodynamics.
Electricity and magnetism: Electric charge. Electric field. Gauss’ Law. Electric potential. Capacitance. Current and resistance. Magnetic field. Magnetic fields due to currents. Induction and inductance. Oscillation and Alternating current. Maxwell’s Equations.
Circuits: Kirchhoff laws, direct current circuits and alternating current circuits. RLC.
Mechanical and electromagnetic waves: properties. Sound waves. Electromagnetic waves and their properties. Electromagnetic spectrum.
