The goal of the integrated teaching unit is to provide students with the basic skills to acquire interpretative methods and design skills that investigate the relationship between urban design and territorial context, the ontology of social reality and its epistemological consequences, ecological dynamics and levels of permissibility of an urban environment that develops close to sensitive natural areas. In the laboratory activities the project is addressed at different scales: from the territorial to the urban and architectural scale. The interaction between the different disciplines (in the integrated didactic activity) allows to approach the design by activating self-reflexive modes, using concepts and reference to scientific theories of the different disciplines. It also allows a greater autonomy of judgment on the part of the student to design in a more critical and self-critical way, problematize and understand the techniques, methodologies, the different lines of research of the disciplines of architectural and urban design, epistemology and ecology.
