The main aim of the course is to provide students with the useful instruments needed to read and investigate the tourism phenomenon in Sardinia via the analysis of its relationships with space and landscape as well as social, cultural and economical features. A particular attention will be drawn to topics as the environmental impacts and the modes for activating a sustainable development, in order to improve the resources and promotion of well being of the local community.
Expected results:
I. Knowledge and understanding: knowledge of the main territorial dynamics of regional tourism also in comparison with other tourist competitors; knowledge of the potential impact of tourism on local development.
II. Applied knowledge and understanding: being able to analyze and understand the phenomenon at different scales.
III. Making judgements: being able to express an independent and critical judgement on the main topics discussed in the classroom.
IV. Communication skills: being able to communicate effectively using geographic language.
V. Learning skills: the ability to learn will be verified through the direct involvement of students.
