PROTOHISTORY
Final oral exam
The course aims to develop theoretical knowledge about the main methods of investigation and interpretation of the later prehistory. Another objective is the acquisition of knowledge about the main archeological sources, about key -contexts for the interpretation of archaeological data, and about the archaeological phenomena related to the later prehistoric societies of Europe, the Mediterranean and Italy.
a) Methodological aspects: main theories, models and their applications; the archaeological sources in later Prehistory; the tipological classification: terminology, form and function.
b) Some illustrative study - cases of aspects and problems in later Prehistory.
c) From raw material to new materials: metals and development of metallurgy.
