ANCIENT CHRISTIAN LITERATURE
The exam will take place in oral form. Each student will answer one or more questions concerning literary history and then read, translate and comment on one or more texts.
Knowledge of the historical-cultural background of the New Testament with its main philological and literary problems; knowledge of the Ancient Christian Literature production and competence-development in text analysis.
Ancient Christian Literature: the course will provide a general overview of the Christian production of the first centuries with focus on philological-literary aspects. The main points will concern: history and methodology of the discipline; Old and New Testament writings; main authors and works from the first to the sixth century (with anthology). Lessons will take place on Monday (hh. 11-13), Tuesday (hh. 9-11) and Wednesday (hh. 9-11) from 17th February to 18th March 2020 (Aula Q [Ex Lettere e Filosofia]).
