Final oral exam.
Test in itinere is included: it consists in a presentation of a work based on a subject agreed with the students.
The course aims to offer the essential instruments and to indicate the ways for the reconstruction of the landscapes and their changes in their long development.
The student will acquire: knowledge and comprehension of the ways of analysis and interpretation of the landscapes in a synchronic and diachronic perspective; ability to apply these instruments and ways of interpretation in order to reconstruct the shapes of the landscapes, the settlement dynamics and the population trend in the long term, respect to the territorial researches related to the planning too.
The first and preparatory lessons will analyze the relation and the comparison between the non-archaeological sources and the archaeological data obtained by the archaeological surveys. The main part of the lessons will concern the interpretation of the landscapes in a synchronic and diachronic perspective by some cases of study. The course will be completed by the analysis of some examples of territorial researches connected to the safeguard and planning activities.

At the beginning of the lessons the bibliographical and in-depth study references about the interpretation of the landscapes will be indicated.
Face to face, seminars, practice (surveys).
The teaching material (indicated in bibliography and during the lessons) will be furnished by the teacher, to the student who will not attend the course too.
The students will be received on established appointments by e-mail (email@example.com; firstname.lastname@example.org).
The students who will not attend the course will agree with the teacher some integrative readings.
The lecturer will indicate also bibliographical references in foreign language to the Erasmus or foreign students.
