At the end of Infectious and Tropical Diseases course the student will have to be trained on diseases caused by biological agents, in particular on viral, bacterial and parasitic etiology, with particular regard to their pathogenic mechanisms, to the respective diagnostic procedures both in the laboratory and in the image and the main therapeutic schemes to be applied. It will also be necessary to demonstrate one''s ability to clinical reasoning and to self orient in the scientific aspects of every single infectious disease. After Hematology couse, the student should be familiar with the most relevant issues concerning the pathophysiology of hemopoiesis, anemias and hemostasis as well as with the basic concepts in the field of onco-hematology and stem cell transplantation. He should also be able to cope with all the most important laboratory procedures involved in the diagnosis of onco-hematologic disorders.
