The training objectives of the obstetrics module, in the course of studies in gynecology and obstetrics, are those of imparting the basics of physiology and pathology of pregnancy. In particular, the aim of the course is to provide the student with the basic skills to diagnose pregnancy.
At the end of the course the student must be able to know:
-Modifications of organs and apparatus during pregnancy
-the development of embryo and embryonic appendages
-The clinical and sonographic criteria to diagnose pregnancy
-The physiology of childbirth
-The clinical evolution of normal childbirth
-Feto-placental semiology for prenatal diagnosis of fetal pathologies, and in particular fetal chromosomal abnormalities with biochemical monitoring (prenatal non-invasive test = combined test) and biophysical (ultrasound estimation of fetal growth)
-The puerperium and lactation
-Pathologies of the secondment and the postpartum
-Diagnosis of abortion and ectopic pregnancy
-Diagnosis and management of diabetes in pregnancy (pregestational diabetes and gestational diabetes)
-Diagnosis and management of infectious diseases during pregnancy (TORCH complex)
-hypertensive diseases in pregnancy and preeclampsia
-Metrorragie of the third trimester of pregnancy (untimely detachment of placenta normally inserta, placenta previa, hemorrhage from Previ vessels, haemorrhages of cervical cancer and varicose veins)
-Maternal-Fetal incompatibility
-Childbirth pathologies: mechanical dystocias, dynamics and abnormal presentations
-The obstetric shock
-Obstetric operations
