To have passed the exams of General and Inorganic Chemistry with Laboratory, Analytical Chemistry I with Laboratory and Analytical Chemistry II with Laboratory
Final oral exam Critical discussion on written reports on laboratory experiences.
The aim of the course is to provide to the Student the necessary competences of instrumetal chemical analysis with chromatographic and spectroscopic (IR) techniques. At the end of the course the Student will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about the chromatographic separations' techniques: he will know the mechanisms of separation and concomitant phenomena, the different chromatographic techniques, instrumentation and accessories, as well as interventions to optimize the analysis. The Student will acquire similar skills on the applicability of infrared spectroscopy in quantitative analysis.
-Chromatographic separations' mechanisms -Classification of the chromatographic techniques -Definition and illustration of the qualitative parameters of a chromatographic separation -Gaschromatography and HPLC: kind of phases, classification and detailed description of the tecniques, instrumentation and practical applications -Infrared spectroscopy: theory, instrumentation and applications in quantitative analysis.
