Students will have to acquire the main notions of romance philology and know the development and the eritage of the medieval literary civilization.
a) Introduction to Linguistics and Romance Philology. Vulgar Latin and the birth of Romance languages; phonetics, morphology, syntax, vocabulary (substrate, superstrate, adstrate, loan words). Old Occitan literary forms. Reading and analysis of lyric and narrative texts in Old Occitan
