The course aims at providing students with the main conceptual and methodological tools to analyze the welfare state system in the contemporary societes and their transformations from the II world war up today, understanding the potential future direction.At the end of the course the student knows how to analyse the institutional design of welfare system and to recognize the main advantages and critical points. Finally, the student will be able to project and implements social policies against social exclusion and for supporting persons, groups and communities.
The main of the course is the study of the systems and welfare policies, the study of their historical origins and the study of the actual crisis and transformations. The perspective is comparative, aimed at comparing different experiences and evolutionary processes in South European countries, with specific reference to the Italian case. During the course, almost 10 hours will be devoted to Social legislation.
