RUSSIAN LITERATURE AND CULTURE

Students should be able to understand and analyze literary and linguistic content of the text. The course aims to provide students with the tools necessary to deal with a literary text, thus acquiring autonomy of analysis and critical thinking skills.
The course includes a first part dedicated to the analysis of the historical and literary Russia century. Accession to the throne of the Romanovs to the abolition of serfdom, the insurgency Decembrist the first terrorist attacks; opposition between Slavophiles and Westernizers to that between the generation of the "fathers" of the '40s and the "children" of the 60s. In this space we will analyze the evolution of Russian prose that, starting with the work of AS Pushkin, through the works of Lermontov, Gogol ', Turgenev comes to the great Russian novels of Tolstoy and Dostoevsky. In the second part of the course we will analyze the literature of the post-revolutionary twentieth century up to the seventies. The program will be divided into four macro-themes, on which the main cultural and historical issues of the period will be grafted.

lIn view of the exam, the student must read at least one prose text per module. The editions reported are purely indicative.
The poems, read in translation and uploaded to the file section of the teaching teams classroom, will be used to complete the historical-cultural picture from a thematic point of view, their formal analysis is not required.
