Consists of four parts:
I) part: Written comprehension and summary (20 hours, 1st semester) + Written production (written summary) (20 hours, 1st semester)
II) part: Grammar (20 hours, 1st semester)
III) part: Oral synthesis (20 hours, 2nd semester)
IV) part: Oral comprehension and note taking (20 hours, 2nd semester)
V) part: Oral production (conversation workshops / cineforum) (20 hours, 2nd semester)
I) part: Written comprehension and summary + Written production (summary) (duration: 4 hours)
a) Written comprehension and summary (duration: 2 hours)
From a topical text (press article) the student will have to demonstrate to have understood the general meaning by making a written summary (about ¼ of the original text) in order to demonstrate a good lexical mastery and the ability to present a consistent and coherent text.
b) Written production (summary) (duration: 2 hours)
Knowing how to develop an introduction, a plan, a conclusion, the student should be able to quickly grasp the general meaning of authentic texts (with or without diagram or illustration), and to make a structured written synthesis: from 2 or 3 texts, he must identify the essential ideas, group them and classify them according to the theme common to these documents.
II) part: Grammar
Grammar test according to the program below (duration: 1 hour 30 minutes)
1) Le subjonctif, formation (tous les temps) et usage.
2) L’enchaînement de la phrase complexe : subordination de cause, but, conséquence, et opposition.
3) Les propositions complétives : quel mode?
4) Les tournures impersonnelles dans les propositions complétives (il est temps que, il suffirait de, il vaudrait mieux que…).
5) Les relations temporelles : l’expression de la simultanéité, de l’antériorité, de la postériorité.
6) Le participe présent, le gérondif, l’infinitif.
7) Le conditionnel et la phrase hypothétique.
8) Les connecteurs logiques de l’argumentation.
9) Le subjonctif présent (formation).
III) part: Oral synthesis
The test consists of an oral synthesis from a dossier of literary texts or literary criticism (for students of L12 (Mediazione linguistica) Curriculum Studi Interlinguistici e Letterari) or press articles (for students of L12 ( Mediazione linguistica) Curriculum Studi Interlinguistici e Interculturali).
IV) part: Listening comprehension and note taking (duration: 40 minutes)
The test will consist in deciphering an authentic audio document of 10 minutes or several short authentic audio documents (of approximately 2 minutes each) which we will ask to meet the speakers, to identify the informants and to give an interpretation after 2 listening on: theme, lexicon, synonymies, informative sequences. The questionnaire will be given to the student upon first listening for note taking and may present leading questions, justification or identification activities and / or reconstruction exercises.
The nature of the listening texts may vary depending on the theme while respecting the typologies studied during the lessons / practical work and the target language level.
V) part: Oral production (duration: 15 minutes)
Interview in French on the topics covered in class and on the films of the cineforum.
