The exam consists of a written examination that take place in the computer lab and cover theory and practice.Students will be provided with a dataset to perform some analyzes that will be commented, thus demonstrating an adequate understanding of the exercise performed and not just the technical ability to use a software for an analysis.
To obtain the minimal score, the student must prove adequate understanding of the general principles of information extraction from data and of economic statistics and her ability to use in practice at least some of the statistical methodologies and data mining techniques.
Obtaining the maximum score will require full understanding of principles and mastery of all analytical instruments introduced during the course.
"Distance exam modality - COVID-19 period: oral verification carried out through the platform Microsoft TEAMS. Given the greater difficulty in the oral presentation in English, the student may request to take the exam in Italian. The professor will share his screen where the results of some statistical analyzes (studied during the course) will be reported. The student will have to comment on these results.
In addition to the comment of results already prepared by the professor, questions may be asked on theoretical aspects addressed during the course."
