Microbiology and Immunology course aims to learn about different levels of organization of the microbial world, and the microbial structures that act as pathogenic factors and / or interact with the host's immune system. Students acquires skills in the isolation and recognition of the main types of microorganisms of veterinary interest, in understanding their organization, and in the interpretation of their variability and evolution. Students also acquires knowledge on the different types of immune response, on the main diagnostic methods (direct and indirect) and prophylactic (vaccines) used to control infectious diseases, and on immunopathology. The course aims to stimulate students: - learning knowledge and developing understanding and developing and / and applying original ideas in the microbiological and immunological context; - to develop the ability to apply this knowledge and solve problems related to new or unfamiliar subjects; - to integrate microbiological knowledge and manage its complexity; - to communicate in a clear and unambiguous way to specialist and non-specialist interlocutors; - to acquire autonomy in the field of microbiology and immunology.
