In line with the educational objectives of the Degree in Computer Engineering, the aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge, skills and competences in the field of Digital Electronics.
* The student will learn:
the basic principles of digital design; the methods and tools to define the combinatorial part and the sequential part ofa digital system; the main evaluation metrics of a system; the most common technologies for the implementation of digital systems.
* The student will master:
the design simple digital systems, starting from their functional specifications; the definition of correct functionality of a component, as well as how, in what time and using which resources this functionality is implemented; the behavioral simulation and the implementation of a digital system through the use of FPGA boards.
* The student will be able to:
understand, reproduce and (re) design the basic elements of a computer, analyzing them during their operation; implement a system on FPGA and analyze its behavior in simulation and post-implementation.
