Nomenclature relating to pregnancy, prenatal care, overall care, diagnosis of pregnancy (signs of presumption, probability and certainty), dating of pregnancy and the needs of pregnant women and definition / assessment of Obstetric Risk
In subsequent lessons, the task of the midwife is discussed in the three quarters:
Pregnancy hygiene, characteristics, counseling, relational task of the midwife in the three trimesters, the first visit (reception of the pregnant woman), obstetric examination, medical history, inspection, palpation, listening, exploration, examination with the speculum.
The obstetric surgery and preparation of the patient for vaginal delivery
Methods for detecting fetal heart activity and uterine activity.
Fundamentals of the interpretation of the cardiotocographic trace.
Technical tools in obstetrics
Consultation and compilation of documented sources: the Pregnancy Agenda and the pregnancy record
Finally, the vital signs in pregnancy are examined:
- Vital signs in pregnancy
- Weight gain;
- Leopold's maneuvers;
- Fundus symphysis measurement;
- Fetal movements.
The last part of the course deals with:
Obstetric skills in the Low Risk and High Risk path, with references to hints of obstetric pathology, Puerperium and Physiological Infant Care, Breastfeeding and preparatory activities for the internship carried out in the ward
