Assessment Methods

Verification of learning:

During the verification of the results, the student must demonstrate:
1. Knowledge and understanding what the student knows at the end of learning.
The student, at the end of the course, will have to demonstrate: a) the knowledge of the main browsers available, the specific search methods with the main search engines b) know how to create a document with specific indications on the structure and type of content c) to know how to create and use a spreadsheet with the application of formulas and graphs d) make a final presentation related to a particular topic.
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. The student will have to demonstrate that he has useful knowledge and concepts in order to be able to create a final product that adheres to the indications given.
3. Critical and judgment skills. the student will have to demonstrate that he knows how to move in the different menus of the software used to apply the necessary changes.
4. Ability to communicate what has been learned. The student will have to demonstrate the ability to express himself with appropriate technical terminology describing, for example, the choices in the different applications
5. Ability to continue the study independently throughout life. the student must prove that he has acquired the autonomy necessary to use the main IT tools to facilitate the continuation of the study activity and those related to his profession The Computer Science course contributes to developing these day one competences that the student can use from the first day of work.
6. Examination procedures. The exam will take place with a practical oral exam using the Microsoft Teams platform. During the exam it is necessary that: a) the student correctly expresses himself with an appropriate scientific language, b) demonstrates that he knows the topics presented, c) knows how to solve the questions posed by the teacher, d) demonstrates that he has acquired the basic knowledge of Computer Science.
During the verification of the results, the student must demonstrate:
1. Knowledge and understanding what the student knows at the end of learning.
The student, at the end of the course, will have to demonstrate: a) the knowledge of the main concepts of descriptive and differential statistics b) knowing how to realize an adequate sampling drawing c) knowing how to use a spreadsheet with the application of formulas and graphs for the resolution of statistical problems d) know how to apply the correct formulas related to statistical analysis
2. Ability to apply knowledge and understanding. The student will have to demonstrate that he has useful knowledge and concepts in order to be able to face a statistical analysis according to the indications given.
3. Critical and judgment skills. the student will have to demonstrate that he knows how to apply the util1 concepts to the resolution of statistical problems.
4. Ability to communicate what has been learned. The student will have to demonstrate the ability to express himself with adequate technical terminology describing, for example, the choices made in the statistical approach.
5. Ability to continue the study independently throughout life. The student will have to demonstrate that he has the autonomy necessary to deal with the problems related to any study topics involving statistics.
6. Examination procedures. The exam will take place with a practical oral exam using the Microsoft Teams platform. Teaching period

First semester

Objectives

The student must acquire: the basic knowledge in order to understand and use computer equipment through also a re-enactment of the technological evolution of current instruments. In addition, understanding and learning to use the most popular software independently and competently.
Lectures: 35 hours.
Practise: 15 hours for a single group of students.
The student must acquire: the basic knowledge in order to understand the main concepts of statistics and learn to apply the different approaches to the solution of problems related to statistical analysis
Lectures: 15 hours.
Practise: 3 hours for a single group of students.
Aim of the course is to provide the students with the knowledge to acquire knowledge of the physical principles of the most important physiological phenomena and the potential applications in veterinary medicine.
At the end of the course the student will have to demonstrate the ability to communicate what has been learned and to express himself with adequate technical terminology.
They must also be able to select appropriate diagnostic techniques and preparatory methods for obtaining the results (One Day Competence n ° 1.23) and to critically analyze and interpret the data obtained and their limitations during the practical activity (One Day Competence n ° 1.21).

Contents

Lectures: The first part of the course will be dedicated to the introduction to the discipline with an excursus on the topics to be covered during the course, the methods of carrying out practical activities and the exam. Evolution of computer science. Algorithms. Hardware. Computers and their internal structure. Operating systems. Windows. Computer networks. Tools for networking. Resources of the network, with particular attention to the consultation of bibliographic databases of the S.B.A. Office automation. Office 365. Word tutorial. Excel. Excel tutorial. Powerpoint. PowerPoint tutorial.
Practical activity: during practical activities, the different methodologies of use of the software analyzed during the lessons apply.

Lectures: The first part of the course will be dedicated to the introduction to the discipline with an in-depth excursus on the topics to be covered during the course, the methods of carrying out practical activities and the exam. Descriptive and differential statistics. Data collection methodologies. Statistical indices. Statistical indices. The statistical probability. Main theorems of probability.
Practical activity: during practical activities, the different methodologies of use of the software to be applied to statistical analysis.

Teaching Methods

The lectures and the practical activity will take place in synchronous mode using the Teams platform during the hours provided by the lesson calendar. The exam will take place with a practical test together with a multiple choice test using the Microsoft Teams platform. Regarding the practical part, the student with the help of the teacher addresses the problems related to the in-depth use of the main software available. Training objectives of practical exercises: a) learn to use the main browsers with particular attention to search engines and bibliographic databases. b) learn how to use the software in office automation suites.

The lectures and the practical activity will take place in synchronous mode using the Teams platform during the hours provided by the lesson calendar. The exam will take place with a written test that includes a multiple choice test and the resolution of some exercises using the Microsoft Teams platform. With regard to the practical part, the student with the help of the teacher addresses the problems related to the use of software such as Excel for the resolution of statistical problems. Training objectives of practical exercises: a) learn how to use software to support statistical analysis

Both the lectures and the practice will take place online synchronously using the Microsoft Teams platform. During the practice, the general principles of risk and biosecurity and the safety rules in the didactic laboratory will be described. Centrifugation, how a centrifuge works, the use of the nomogram and the centrifugation of a blood sample will also be viewed and explained. Osmosis, the difference between plant cell and animal cell. Observation of cellular behavior in the presence of a hypotonic, hypertonic and isotonic solution.
