No prerequisites required. Nevertheless, before taking the exam in International and European Union Law, students are advised to take the exam in Italian and Comparative Constitutional Law.

Oral exam aimed at verifying the student’s knowledge. For students who have attended at least 80% of the lessons, an intermediate test may be organized on a part of the course program.
This course aims at providing students with a basic knowledge of Public International Law and European Union law, fundamental for the purpose of understanding the dynamics taking place in the International Community and to be able to study, even independently, additional specific areas of International Law (such as International Human Rights Law or International Humanitarian Law) and EU Law.
The course will deal, in particular, with the following topics: - Introduction: History of International Law and framework of the functions of creation, ascertainment and enforcement of International rules; - Actors; - Origins and evolution of the European integration process; - The Institutional Framework of the European Union; - EU Competences; - The Sources of EU Law (Treaties and other Sources; Secondary Law).

The course will be mainly carried out through lectures and exercises on practical cases.
