The course aims to allow the knowledge of Transport Law – with reference to road, maritime and air transport - main institutes, as they are regulated by internal, international and Ue rules.
Expected results:
Knowledge and understanding: the student will achieve good knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles and institutional aspects of Transport Law, of the general rules governing the contract for the transport of passengers and goods, the carrier's liability regime and passenger rights, the public regulation of access to the market for maritime and air transport services, of the discipline of state aid and maritime and air territorial continuity, of the ports and airports management and administration.
Ability to apply knowledge and understanding: the student will be able to explain the main institutes of Transport Law; to identify and to interpret the rules and the main contractual arrangements; to identify the responsibilities of the operators; to understand and interpret the decisions of the internal, community and international courts.
Autonomy of judgment: the student will be able to distinguish the regulatory sources of the subject and to identify the most appropriate contractual solutions, developing an autonomy of judgment in interpreting and applying the main legal institutions and the legal reflections of administrative, economic and social phenomena related to road, maritime and air transport.
Communication skills: although teaching does not include specific activities aimed at developing communication skills, except those implicit in learning skills, the student will be able to use technical language in describing, interpreting, evaluating and applying the fundamental principles and essential concepts of transport law.
Learning skills: teaching provides the essential basis for the learning of transport law, through a process of deepening the knowledge of the essential principles and fundamental institutes, guaranteeing the necessary tools for the understanding, interpretation and application of the legal rules, as well as the access to the following levels of specialization, participate in a public competition and play a role in private companies.
