Objectives

[ENGLISH] Learning outcomes of the course unit:
Use of basic game theory to predict firms strategies and competitive behaviour; understanding the impact of various form of competition on market outcome; Design of incentive contracts; understanding the effects of optimal pricing strategies; Design of strategies in high tech markets.

Course contents:
Basic concept of organization thoery
Introduction to Game theory
Market structure: competition, monopoly and oligopoly
Price and non-price strategies:
a. Price discrimination
b. Vertical relations
c. Product differentiation
d. Entry deterrence. Non price strategies in entry deterrence: binding committment; product proliferation; bundling and tying, predatory pricing.

Tecnology. Research and Development and the dynamic in R&D competition.
Tecnology adoption with network externalities.
