Migration is a particularly complex phenomenon and its study requires often the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods. This module will offer an overview of the main issues associated to both methods. At the end of the course, students will be able to understand both the point of strength and of weakness in the various empirical strategies applied for migration studies and which is the best methodology to apply with the case in hands (eg legal migration, illegal migration, temporary migration, rare migrant groups, etc.)
