COMPUTER SCIENCE
This course aims to illustrate the aspects of the application of methodologies for the treatment of information and information technology (IT) in medicine in consideration of the specific types of medical data and signals and their treatment and analysis, which will be the basic computer skills for the medical profession. The student is able to understand the theory of digital signal acquisition and computerized processing techniques, the digitization and processing of images, the organization of medical information with information systems based on health archives, the problem of safety, data protection, confidentiality. Particular attention is paid to clinical information systems such as electronic medical records and the integration of medical information between heterogeneous information systems, with a view to supporting decisions, conditioned by the use of standardized protocols, codings and terminologies. The issues relating to telemedicine and the transmission of medical data on the internet and the management of e-health in the area are also analyzed.
