Verification of learning:

During the course, some tests could be made to evaluate the real learning of the students.
The dates and topics of the tests will be agreed with the students according to the program.
Final Exam: oral exam.

Objectives

The aim of the Course is to provide the student with the skills related to the Anatomical principles, the general organization of the human body and the specific Anatomy of the Musculoskeletal system.
At the end of the course the student will have acquired:
- Knowledge of the anatomical language as a working tool.
- Knowledge of the morphological organization of the human body.
- Detailed knowledge of the Musculoskeletal System, with anatomical functional, clinical and radiological considerations.
- Ability to recognize and describe the human bones, joints and muscles.

Methodology of the Anatomical studies; the meaning of normality.
Anatomical terminology. Directional and movement terms.
General organization of the human body: outward shape and internal architecture.
Introduction to the Musculoskeletal System.
Generalities on the skeletal system.
Generalities on the joints.
Spine, thoracic cage and related joints.
Skeleton and joints of the head.
Skeleton and joints of the upper limb.
Skeleton and joints of the lower limb.
Generalities on the muscular system.
Muscles of the head.
Muscles of the spine.
Muscles of the neck.
Intrinsic chest muscles.
Thoracic-appendicular muscles.
Spino-appendicular muscles.
The diaphragm and the respiratory movements.
Muscles of the abdomen.
Muscles of the shoulder and arm.
Muscles of the forearm and hand.
Muscles of the hip and thigh.
Muscles of the leg and foot.
