Sports law
The exam will be held orally in order to ascertain the knowledge developed by the student with respect to principles and legal concepts relating to sports law. Further information on assessment methods and criteria will be given during the lessons.
The Sports Law course aims at providing the students with a background on the principles governing sport contracts and civil liability in sports activities.
The part of the course concerning Law Sport will focus on the following main topics:
- Legal notion of sport. Sports legal system. The employment contract with the professional athletes. Liability in sports activities and related legal justification.
The reading of E. Battelli (a cura di), Diritto privato dello sport, II ed., Giappichelli, Torino, 2021, (with the exclusion of the sections related to “Giustizia e ADR nello sport”) is mandatory.
Lessons in class are supported by papers as well as additional material. This material does not replace the suggested handbook.
