The course offers a contemporary approach to international economics, focusing on theory and, more importantly, its application using the standard tools of economic analysis. The course offers an overview of the world economy, the comparative advantage of trading and the production possibilities frontier. Also, it covers topics such as inter-industry and Intra-industry trade, the factor endowments and the commodity composition of trade, the role of firms in the global context and the international factor movements. Specific attention will be paid to the analysis of international migration and international trade policies and the linkages to economic growth.
