CELLULAR PHARMACOLOGY AND TOXICOLOGY
2 written proofs on lecture topics, oral proof on specific topic, final examination
At the end the student will know the main mechanism of acrions of drugs and toxics and will known elements of pharmacokinetics and toxikenetics including pharmacogenetic aspects. The student will be able to identify the development and to follow the development and to definy the molecular targets for new innovative targeted therapies.
-Introduction, definitions and classification: origin of drugs, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics pharmacogenetics, gender pharmacology, development of a drug, agonists, antagonists, co-agonists, inverse agonists. Receptors: ionotropic receptors,G protein receptors, tyrosin kinase receptors, endocellular receptors
Channels: calcium, potassium, sodium and chloride channels. Enzymatic inihibitors
Pharmacokinetics: absorption, distribution, metabolism and elimination
Acute, subacute and chronic toxicity, teratogenis, carcinogenesis, reactive oxygen species, endocrine disruptors and drug toxicity
