The course analyses the structural and institutional features of the word economic development from the later middle ages through the contemporary age.
The long-period phases of preindustrial economy: population and incomes. Agricolture: farming systems and social relationships. Manufacture and trade relationships. Protoindustry and industrialisation. Circulation of goods, capitals and labour in 19th and 20th centuries. World War Two and post-bellum reconstruction.
