ITALIAN LINGUISTICS

Students will acquire the basic skills of Italian Linguistics with particular focus on the contemporary Italian “linguistic space”, its varieties and on its construction and evolution.
The course aims to illustrate the contemporary linguistic situation, with particular focus on the description of the varieties of the repertoire and the structure of Italian lexis. Also, through the discussion of sample texts, we will trace a brief profile of the history of the Italian language, along with the first notions of historical linguistics.
