SPANISH LITEARTURE
Oral and Written assignment
The student needs to be able to:
- Apply the main tools of literary analysis.
- Place the various texts of the programme in their historical and literary context.
The course consists of the study of the spanish literature of the first decades of 20th century, from the crisis of 1898 to the civil war in 1936. This turbulent period of the history, between political turmoil, the desire of modernity and discomfort, resulted in an original and creative wave in literature, for many unrepeatable moment in the history of Spanish literature. The course focuses on the literary movements of that period: "modernismo" and "generación del 98", the spanish avanguard and the "generación del 27". The programme will have focus on the following authors:Unamuno, Valle-Inclán, Gómez de la Serna, e García Lorca
